Raiders 16U Blue Heading to USA Hockey National Championships
We wanted to share with our membership our excitement for our Raiders 16U Blue team!! Next week the team will be traveling to Irvine, California, to represent the Raiders, the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association (our local USA Hockey Affiliate) and the Commonwealth of Virginia at the USA Hockey National Championships. This is the highest level of competition at our USA Hockey level. They will be facing off against teams from across the country who most also won state championships in order to qualify for the company.
We have planned several events ahead of the team's departure and while they're in California competing and we'd like to invite you to join if you'd like to support the team.
Nationals Send Off Event
The 16U Blue team will be participating in a friendly scrimmage/game against our Raiders 18U Blue team and a few invited players from other Raiders team. We've hosted this event the last several seasons and encourage our extended Raiders family that would like to attend, watch the scrimmage and wish our players good luck as they head off to Nationals. The scrimmage will be held this Sunday, March 22nd at 3:40 pm on the Olympic Rink.
Nationals Watch Party
All of the Nationals Games will be live streamed on USA Hockey TV, which requires a subscription to view the games. They offer a couple of different plans, but if you'd like to watch all of the Raiders games, and others, the monthly plan is $29.99 and you can sign up at USAHockeyTV.com.
The Raiders will be getting a subscription and will be hosting a Watch Party for 16U Blue's third round robin game on Friday, March 27th at 6:15 pm EDT. The event will be hosted at SkateQuest in the Mezzanine area and all are welcome to attend.
There will also be updates posted on the tournament via the Raiders Facebook & Instagram accounts throughout the tournament.
Raiders 16U Blue will be participating in the 2A Division and will have the following schedule:
Wednesday, March 25th - 8:00 pm vs Spokane Jr Chiefs (Washington)
Thursday, March 26th - 2:45 pm vs WEHL Southeast (Wisconsin)
Friday, March 27th - 6:15 pm vs Princeton Jr Tigers (New Jersey)
Playoff Rounds - Saturday & Sunday March 28th & 29th TBD
