JD Lash Memorial Skating Foundation
The JD Lash Memorial Skating Foundation was established in 2004 by friends and family of JD Lash through private donations and fundraising.  The Foundation honors JD Lash, a beloved hockey enthusiast, teacher, mentor, and coach, who passed away on October 10, 2003 at the age of 43, after a courageous battle with cancer.
JD was passionate about helping both aspiring and accomplished skaters to be the best they could be.  It was his dream that every child who wanted to develop his or her skills would have the opportunity to do so.  In his spirit, the mission of the JD Lash Foundation is to assist those youngsters of the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area who have the potential to be outstanding hockey players or figure skaters, but may need a helping hand to achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams.  To date, the foundation has awarded over $30,000 in grants to young skaters in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
For more information, please visit the JD Lash Foundation website at www.jdlashfoundation.com.  Grant applications can also be found in the lobby of the SkateQuest Reston rink.
