The Raiders have established innovative programs at the 8U and 10U levels specifically designed to provide additional opportunities for young girls to develop their hockey skills in a fun and competitive environment. Our 8U and 10U Girls Travel Development programs provide the best of both worlds: they enable younger players the opportunity to play with and against girls their own age and at the same time enjoy additional ice time and the benefits of coed-hockey. Both programs are intended to prepare girls to join the girls or coed travel programs or to dual roster and to find the path (girls only, coed) that works best for them.
8U Girls Selects Travel Development: Includes opportunities for 8U girls to participate in girls-only jamborees and tournaments throughout the year, including the annual Beach Bash in Ocean City, MD. Girls participating in the program also play in the Club’s coed 8U Travel or House programs.
10U Girls Travel Development: Includes a weekly 10U Girls Travel Development Team practice held at Loudoun Ice Centre. Players also participate in 10U girls jamborees and tournaments throughout the year, including the annual Beach Bash in Ocean City, MD. All 10U Girls Travel Development team players also play in the Club’s coed 10U Travel or House programs.
8U/10U Pond Hockey: Offered during the spring season, the Raider’s 8U/10U Pond Hockey series takes place at Loudoun Ice Centre’s mini-rink and includes cross-ice and small area games that teach hockey skills and concepts in a fun and competitive pond-hockey style environment.
