Tryout Process
All players regardless of experience must register for tryouts and pay the $100 tryout fee. The tryout fee can be paid by credit card online only.
Players are encouraged to attend as many tryout sessions as possible, but players must attend two of the sessions in order to be selected for a team. If sessions are going to be missed, the absence must be communicated by sending an email to
or notify the staff at the registration table.
Players may request to only be considered for a particular team within an age level. (example: Player only wants to be considered for a Blue Team, but not Silver or Black) This can be noted when registering online or at the check-in table during tryouts.
If your player is injured and wants consideration they must be registered and pay the tryout fee online.
There will be no walk – in registration allowed. We will not accept any tryout registrations after May 7, 2010.
Any returning player must have all financial obligations with the club paid in full before taking the ice.
The travel director will randomly assign pinnie numbers to players and have tryout sheets completed before the first tryout.
On the first night of skater tryouts all families will receive a contract which must be completed and returned upon check-in for night two of tryouts. Additionally each family must submit a $500 deposit. The deposit will be applied towards your team fees if your player is selected for a team. If your player is not selected for one of our teams, the deposit will be returned. If you choose to only be considered for a particular team (example: Only want to be considered for a Blue Team) and your player is not selected for that team, then the deposit will be returned as well.
Age divisions that have more than 50 players registered will be broken into two smaller groups divided alphabetically by the registered players’ last names. (Sessions tentatively scheduled at the Squirt, Pee Wee & Bantam ages).
Team selections will be announced on the club website within 48 hours of the conclusion of the last ice session.

Mites
There will be one Mite travel team. The Mites will be getting more ice time than any of our programs. This provides an opportunity to maximize skill development. They will be playing in both House and Travel programs. There will also be two Mite Development Teams (Mite Silver and Mite Black)
All players are required to play in the house league, and will be equally dispersed among the house teams.
They will attend 2 travel practices and 1 house practice per week and play games in the CBHL (Capital Beltway Hockey League). Mite Silver and Mite Black will have 1 travel practice per week and 1 house practice and will also play games in the CBHL.
They are expected to play in all travel games and attend any house games that do not conflict with the travel schedule.
The player’s fees will reflect the increased ice time. The total fee for the Mite Blue team is TBD.
NOTE: Mite Silver & Black Teams will be selected in the Fall as part of our Mite House evaluation skate. The May tryouts are only for those families interested in being considered for the Mite Blue team.
