Concussion Education and Baseline Testing

Online Concussion Education

Raiders offers a free online presentation with current information about concussion that is crucial for every player and parent involved in contact sports.

We strongly encourage every parent and player to spend half an hour learning about this important topic (or refresh your memory annually) so that you know what to do when concussion is suspected.  There's a presentation for parents, and a separate one for players.

Get to course through this link:  http://www.ffpc3.com/rrhc.html

Players baselined through Raiders will already have a profile -- Hit "forgot my password" to check. If you don't have an account, you can setup a new one.

No charge for Raider families (Raiders pays).

ImPACT Baseline Testing

Why does your player need a baseline?  Concussion baseline testing is essential for any player in contact sports.  You need a baseline for your player in case he/she shows signs/symptoms of concussion during the season.  If it happens to your child, medical providers can compare the pre-season ImPACT baseline against a post-injury ImPACT test to guide diagnosis and best concussion management for safe "return-to-play" and "return-to-learn."  ImPACT is done on a computer, measuring mental tasks such as processing speed, memory and reaction time.  Players younger than 10 take a similar test on an iPad. More info about ImPACT here:  https://www.impacttest.com/audience/?parents-3

** Players should be baselined on ImPACT annually if under 14 and every two years if over 14 **

Raiders arranges and pays for baseline testing in August and September for regular season players.  If you missed this opportunity or are a Spring Raider only, we recommend you get your player baseline tested at these public sessions:
